Audi India is adding another model to its Q8 line-up – the SQ8, which serves as a more potent version of the standard Q8 SUV and will be more affordable than the significantly more powerful RS Q8 Performance. Here is everything you can expect from the SQ8 ahead of its launch on March 17, 2026.
What is the expected price of the Audi SQ8, and who are its rivals?
SQ8 price could be around Rs 1.9 crore, ex-showroom

Expect the Audi SQ8’s price to fall between that of the standard Q8 and the top-of-the-line RS Q8, which are priced at Rs 1.13 crore and Rs 2.34 crore, ex-showroom, respectively. So, the SQ8 could be priced at around Rs 1.9 crore, positioning it as an alternative to the Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 AMG Coupe and Porsche Cayenne GTS.
What engine and gearbox power the Audi SQ8?
Gets the RS Q8’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine

Acting as a midpoint between the Q8 and RS Q8, the SQ8 features a slightly sportier look and chassis upgrades over the standard Q8 and is powered by a detuned version of the RS Q8’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. While the RS Q8 Performance delivers 640hp and 850Nm of torque, the SQ8 produces 507hp and 770Nm.
What are the performance figures of the SQ8?
Claimed 0-100kph time is 4.1 seconds
Audi claims that the SQ8 can complete the 0-100kph sprint in 4.1 seconds, which is 0.5 seconds slower than the RS Q8’s 3.6 seconds. However, the SQ8 is much quicker than the standard Q8, which has a 0-100kph time of 5.6 seconds. The top speed of the SQ8 is electronically limited to 250kph.
How does the exterior of the Audi SQ8 look?
Comes with ‘S’ badging to differentiate itself

The SQ8 retains the overall silhouette of the standard Q8 but features a sportier appearance. While it gets a grille similar to the standard Q8, its larger air vents on the sides of the front bumper resemble those on the RS Q8. The model coming here may get elements finished in black or satin silver. Matrix LED headlamps are available as standard fitment on the SQ8.

From the side, the design is quite similar to the Q8 and RS Q8, save for unique wheel designs. Subtle moulding on the door sills and smooth surfaces give the profile a clean look. Wheel sizes on the internationally sold model start at 21 inches, with options to upgrade to 23 inches. The rear is also similar to other Q8 models, but ‘S’ badging on the tailgate helps differentiate it from the rest of the Q8 line-up.
What does the interior of the SQ8 look like, and what features does it offer?
Interior resembles that of the other Q8 SUVs and boasts a long equipment list

The SQ8’s cabin looks nearly identical to that of the other Q8 models. It features Alcantara and leather upholstery similar to the RS Q8, while the dashboard showcases a continuous air vent design with silver accents. Sporty pedals have a metal finish, and the steering wheel bears S-line badging. Exclusive to the SQ8 are S-specific graphics for the digital driver’s display.

The international-spec model includes a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, touch-based HVAC controls, multi-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, an optional Bang & Olufsen sound system, powered front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions, as well as connected car tech. However, features for the India-spec model may vary slightly.

Features chassis upgrades over the standard Q8
Over the standard Q8, the SQ8 adds chassis upgrades such as adaptive air suspension and standard rear-wheel steering. It also includes an S Sport package comprising red brake calipers, a sport rear differential and active roll stabilisation.
