The Vinfast VF 6 all-electric SUV has been spotted testing on Mumbai roads ahead of the Vietnamese EV maker’s India entry in the festive season. Just a few weeks ago, we shared the first spy shots of an uncovered Vinfast VF 7 test mule, and now, a camouflaged version of the SUV’s younger sibling was recently sighted on Indian roads.
- Vinfast VF 6 set to enter the competitive midsize electric SUV segment
- The VF 6 gets a unique design with full-width LED strips and a sloping roofline
- Its cabin features a 12.9-inch touchscreen but omits the instrument cluster
Vinfast VF 6 exterior design
Sleek and subtly aggressive styling
Vinfast first showed off the VF 6 in India at Auto Expo 2025, and the test mule’s design is expectedly identical to it. Up front, the VF 6 gets two distinctive full-width LED strips that kink downwards in the middle to form a partial ‘V’ that flanks the Vinfast badge. Underneath them are housings for the main headlight units and indicators, a honeycomb-patterned air dam and a healthy amount of black plastic cladding.
Over to the side, the VF 6 will get 18-inch alloy wheels and some more black cladding. Moving towards the rear reveals a sloping roofline, full-width LED strips with tail-lamp units below echoing the setup at the front, and a stop lamp in the bumper. The VF 6 is 4,241mm long, 1,834mm wide and 1,580mm tall, with a 2,730mm wheelbase and a generous 190mm of ground clearance.
Vinfast VF 6 interior and features
No instrument cluster or driver’s display

The VF 6’s cabin sports a tidy and uncluttered look, thanks to design touches like a dual-tone colour scheme, low-set dashboard, flat-bottomed 3-spoke steering wheel, inset air-con vents and, interestingly, no conventional instrument cluster or digital driver’s display. Instead, the India-spec VF 6 will come with a heads-up display as standard that projects all the requisite driving information.
A 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen sits atop the dashboard and is angled towards the driver, with an array of buttons underneath that include drive selection and drive mode toggles. All other functions in the VF 6 are accessible solely through the infotainment screen. Coming to creature comforts, the VF 6 will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, connected car tech, and more.
Safety suite is loaded
As far as safety goes, the VF 6 gets seven airbags, front and rear disc brakes, rain-sensing wipers, roll-over mitigation, rear park assist, blind-spot detection, automatic headlights, tyre-pressure monitoring system, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera and an electronic parking brake.
Vinfast VF 6 battery and range
204hp, 310Nm

Under its sleek skin, the VF 6 comes equipped with a 59.6kWh battery pack that powers a single motor on the front axle, yielding an output of 204hp and 310Nm. 0-100kph is dealt with in a claimed 8.89 seconds, and the WLTP-certified range stands at 480km. The VF 6 also supports 7.2kW AC fast charging.
Vinfast VF 6 price and rivals
Local manufacturing likely to result in competitive pricing

The VF 6 will launch in India after the VF 7, and thanks to local assembly from the onset, pricing will likely be quite competitive. The VF 6 will rival the MG Windsor EV, Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and Mahindra BE 6, most of which fall into the Rs 17 lakh-27 lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
