
Toyota’s Urban Cruiser Hyryder has outsold the brand’s long-standing bestseller Innova for the first time, clocking its best-ever monthly sales of 11,555 units in October, a 201 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth. The combined sales of the Innova Hycross and Crysta stood at 11,294 units during the month. Interestingly, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) also registered its highest-ever SUV and MPV dispatches of 33,809 units in October, a 61 percent YoY increase.

Hyryder is the most successful rebadged model for Toyota
The Hyryder has been on a strong growth trajectory since its introduction in September 2022. The SUV’s previous best monthly sales of 9,100 units occurred in August 2025, taking the tally to over 1,60,000 units since its launch.
Developed in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki as a sibling to the Grand Vitara, the Hyryder is the most successful rebadged model for Toyota. With a claimed mileage of up to 27.97kpl, it is one of the most fuel-efficient options in the midsize SUV segment.
Toyota Innova, Innova Hycross sales
Maintains a 7,924-unit lead in first 7 months of FY2026
The Innova twins still have a strong lead when it comes to cumulative sales during the first seven months of the ongoing financial year – 64,678 units were sold between April and October 2025, a 5 percent increase over the year-ago period. In comparison, the Hyryder’s sales surged 57 percent to 56,754 units, which is 7,924 units fewer than the Innova twins.

While the Toyota Hyryder is a 5-seat SUV with ex-showroom prices ranging from Rs 10.95 lakh to Rs 19.57 lakh, the Innova MPVs are available in 7- and 8-seat layouts. The Innova Hycross is priced between Rs 18.06 lakh and Rs 31.90 lakh, and the Innova Crysta starts at Rs 19.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 27.08 lakh.
Together, these three models accounted for 67 percent of TKM’s sales during October.
