Tata Motors is going to reveal its new Sierra SUV tomorrow, followed by its launch on November 25. The 2025 Tata Sierra packs a long list of features, and it will be offered in multiple powertrain options. If the upcoming Tata Sierra has caught your eye, here are five things worth knowing about it.
1. What is the expected price of the Tata Sierra?
ICE version may start at Rs 11 lakh
We expect the upcoming Sierra’s ex-showroom price to be in the range of Rs 11 lakh-20 lakh. If that holds, the SUV would sit between the Curvv (Rs 9.66 lakh-18.85 lakh) and Harrier (Rs 14 lakh-25.25 lakh). The Sierra EV could be priced in the Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh price bracket.
2. What powertrains will the Tata Sierra offer?
Electric, diesel and petrol

On the ICE front, the Sierra will be available with three 1.5-litre engine options – a naturally aspirated unit, a direct-injection turbo-petrol and a diesel. The Sierra would likely borrow the Curvv’s 118hp 1.5-litre diesel. Tata’s new direct-injection turbo-petrol engine with an output of 170hp could debut on the Sierra, with the Harrier and Safari getting it as well. An electric version of the Sierra will launch, too. While the entire powertrain specifications are unknown currently, the Sierra EV is expected to feature the 55kWh and 65kWh battery pack options.
3. How different is the exterior design of the 2025 Sierra from the old model?
Bigger wheels, split-headlamp setup

The new Tata Sierra takes inspiration from the original, keeping key features such as the signature curved-over rear side windows, squarish wheel arches and high-set bonnet. However, the latest Sierra differentiates itself with a sharper roofline, shorter front and rear overhangs and a more upright, slab-sided shape. Its slim, split-headlamp setup is new as well and resembles that of Tata’s newer cars. Another major change is the wheels – the old Sierra had chunky R15 tyres, while the new one gets larger 19-inch alloys. There will be slight differences between the EV and ICE versions to maintain the distinction between the models.
4. What features will the Tata Sierra offer?
Triple-screen setup, Harrier EV-like steering wheel

A recent Sierra interior teaser by Tata revealed a 3-screen setup – a digital instrument cluster along with central and passenger-side touchscreens. Each unit is expected to measure 12.3 inches. The interior gets a dual-tone theme and a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo.
Features like a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, window sunblinds at the rear and an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror (IRVM) have been confirmed so far through teasers. We can also expect wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger and ventilated front seats.
On the safety front, the Sierra is likely to get 6 airbags and electronic stability control (ESC). The teaser revealed a lane-departure warning symbol on the digital instrument panel, suggesting that ADAS will be part of the Sierra’s safety kit. Like other Tata SUVs, the Sierra could perform exceptionally well in crash-safety tests.
5. Which SUVs will the 2025 Tata Sierra rival?
Will rival midsize ICE and EV SUVs

The latest from Tata will measure around 4.3 metres, similar to the Curvv, and go against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Citroen Aircross X and MG Astor. On the other hand, the Sierra EV will rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
