Honda India’s Roadman: 10 New Models By 2030
According to Honda’s President and CEO Toshihiro Mibe, Honda’s renewed focus on India stems from the brand’s need to expand beyond their current lineup, which is currently limited to just 3 models – the Elevate, City and Amaze.
“We are planning to launch 10 or more models by 2030. Of these, severn will be SUVs, which have now become mainstream in India,” said Mibe during the show.
Honda’s upcoming models will span internal combustion (ICE), hybrid, and electric vehicles catering to both mass-market and premium segments. The roadmap signals Honda’s intent to strengthen their SUV portfolio and appeal to a wider range of Indian car buyers.
0 Series α SUV To Be Produced In India
The highlight of Honda’s new roadmap is the Honda 0 Series α SUV, which will be manufactured in India and exported to Japan and other Asian markets. The SUV will be part of Honda’s global Zero Series lineup and represents a new generation of software-integrated electric and hybrid vehicles.
The 0 α SUV is expected to share several components with the Elevate, including its platform, while featuring updated technology and a more futuristic design. It will be produced at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, which will further position India as a global export hub for the brand.
The company also emphasised their plan to expand its hybrid range and enter the B2-SUV segment, potentially competing with models like the Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue.
What To Expect From Honda’s Future Lineup
The 10 new models planned for India are likely to include a mix of:
- New-generation SUVs built on flexible ICE-hybrid platforms
- Electric SUVs under the Honda 0 Series
- Updated sedans and crossovers for mass and premium segments
- Locally-developed sub-compact models to strengthen presence below the Elevate
Honda is betting on India’s rising SUV demand. If executed well, this roadmap could bring Honda back into the mainstream SUV race alongside brands like Hyundai, Toyota, and Maruti Suzuki.
