Honda designers say the 0 α SUV concept is near-production-spec

The new Honda SUV concept is smaller than the 0 SUV showcased at CES at the start of the year, but shares the same development approach – the company calls it ‘Thin, Light, and Wise’ – and design language, along with the wide and upright stance. While the sharply raked front and vertical rear windscreens are prominent, the window line tapers sharply to the rear. The thick C-pillar is reminscent of an MPV and a small boot spoiler is visible.
The front ‘grille’ area sports an illuminated Honda logo and a charging port, framed on the side and above by the headlights. A prominent chin flows into thick body cladding along the sides and the aero-design 19-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels sit in protruding wheel arches. The rear winscreen is framed by full-width, U-shaped tail-lights, and there’s an oversided faux bash plate on the rear bumper, which integrates smaller light units.

Honda design executive, Taku Fukui confirmed that the Honda 0 α concept is close to production, and most design details will be seen on the final production model.
