We’re nearly at the end of 2025, and this year saw seven all-new electric cars join the Indian mass-market segments, from the full price list of the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e to the arrival of Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Harrier EV, Vinfast’s VF6 and VF7, and the Kia Carens Clavis EV. Next year could bring at least nine all-new mass-market electric cars and two facelifts for EVs currently on sale. Read on to find out about all the EVs likely to launch in 2026, listed in order of their expected launch timelines.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Launch in early 2026

The first Maruti EV’s launch has been delayed significantly, and while the brand has revealed a number of details regarding the e Vitara, some specifications, and most importantly, the prices, are yet to be disclosed. The rival to the likes of the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Vinfast VF6 and Tata Sierra EV will come with two battery pack options – 49kWh and 61kWh – spread across three trims. The larger battery is claimed to have an ARAI range of 543km. The Maruti e Vitara has also received a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP. We expect the e Vitara’s prices to range between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.
Tata Sierra EV
Launch by March 2026

While Tata Sierra prices will be announced in January, its all-electric counterpart is expected to join the line-up in the first quarter of 2026. The Sierra EV is likely to get the 55kWh battery pack from the top-spec Curvv EV and the 65kWh unit seen in entry-level Harrier EV variants. Rear-wheel- and all-wheel-drive versions are expected. Prices for the all-electric Sierra are expected to start at Rs 16 lakh and go up to Rs 25 lakh.
Vinfast Limo Green
Launch by March 2026

Expected to rival the likes of the BYD eMax 7 when it arrives in the first quarter of next year, the Vinfast Limo Green is a 5+2 seat crossover-like MPV. It will have a 60.1kWh battery that powers a 201hp front axle-mounted motor and has a claimed range of 450km on a single charge. We expect the Limo Green to be priced from Rs 22 lakh to Rs 26 lakh.
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV
Launch by March 2026

Toyota’s badge-engineered version of the e Vitara is expected to arrive shortly after the Maruti EV. First showcased in production form in December 2024, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV differentiates itself from the e Vitara by having a Prius-like headlight signature, subtle tweaks to the rear and unique interior trim, upholstery and paint colours. The battery and motor options are expected to be shared between the Maruti and Toyota electric SUVs, namely the 49kWh and 61kWh packs. Prices for the born-electric Toyota are expected to range between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.
Kia Syros EV
Launch by June 2026

When it arrives in the second quarter of 2026, the Kia Syros EV will go up against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor. Spy shots suggest that the Syros EV will look near-identical to the combustion-engine compact SUV, but with EV-specific design changes such as a closed-off ‘grille’ and a charging port on the front left fender. Kia India’s second EV could share its battery and powertrain with the Hyundai Inster EV on sale abroad; the Hyundai is powered by either a 42kWh battery or a 49kWh unit, with WLTP ranges of 300km and 350km, respectively. The Syros EV will be priced at a premium over the petrol and diesel versions, estimated to range between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 18 lakh.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift
Launch by June 2026

Subtle exterior design tweaks, more buttons for frequently used functions on the inside and larger battery packs are expected with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift when it arrives in the second quarter of 2026. In markets abroad, the Hyundai EV gets a 63kWh battery pack in the standard-range version, powering a rear axle-mounted motor. Meanwhile, the refreshed Ioniq 5 AWD is powered by an 84kWh unit. However, the most likely version for India is the 84kWh RWD version, which has a WLTP range of 570km. Expect prices to rise to around Rs 50 lakh compared to the outgoing model’s tag of Rs 46.3 lakh.
Vinfast VF3
Launch by June 2026

Vietnamese EV maker Vinfast is looking to directly take on the MG Comet with the VF3. This small, boxy tall-boy has a ground clearance of 191mm and an 18.6kWh battery powering a 43.5hp motor. While prices are expected to be in the Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh region when it arrives in the first half of next year, Vinfast is looking to offer a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription plan to position the VF3 as even more affordable.
Tata Punch EV facelift
Launch by mid-2026

While Tata Motors has not confirmed the exact timeline of the launch, a mid-lifecycle facelift for the Punch EV will arrive next year. Not much is known about the Punch EV facelift, but we expect it will feature similar design updates as the upcoming Punch facelift, albeit with EV-specific differences. Further, tweaks to the cabin’s layout and more creature comforts and tech are expected with the refreshed model. The 25kWh and 35kWh battery pack options available on the outgoing Punch EV are expected to continue, but prices will likely increase from the current Rs 9.99 lakh-14.14 lakh.
Skoda Elroq
Launch by 2026-end

Skoda India is weighing which EV to bring to our market, and among the options are the Elroq and Enyaq eSUVs, one of which is expected to arrive in the latter half of 2026. The former feels like a more logical choice for India; it has been showcased at this year’s Auto Expo and could take on entry-level luxury EVs like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BMW iX1 LWB, with an expected price tag around Rs 45 lakh. The Elroq gets rear-wheel-drive variants powered by 52kWh, 59kWh and 77kWh battery options and a range-topping AWD version with 340hp. Skoda claims a 0-100kph time of 6.6 seconds and a 560km range for the Elroq AWD. The RWD versions are more likely for India.
Maruti Suzuki ‘YMC’ electric MPV
Launch by 2026-end
Maruti’s second EV will be an MPV based on the e Vitara’s platform; it is expected to share the 49kWh and 61kWh battery options with the eSUV and have around the same range. The Maruti YMC MPV will be positioned above the Ertiga and XL6, taking on the Kia Carens Clavis EV with an estimated price tag of Rs 20 lakh-25 lakh. Whether the electric MPV will arrive by the end of 2026 or early in 2027 is yet to be confirmed.
Tata Avinya
Launch by 2026-end

Tata has announced that the first model from its premium electric car brand, Avinya, will arrive before the end of 2026. So far, the brand has showcased two concepts, the Avinya four-door coupe and the Avinya X SUV, and it has mentioned that the first model likely to launch will be a five-door, low-slung sportback. Regardless of which model actually arrives first, the new EV, which will be the first to use Tata’s Gen 3 skateboard born-electric platform, will be positioned above the Harrier EV, prices for which top out at Rs 30.23 lakh.
All prices are ex-showroom, India.
