Mini Cooper Convertible exterior details
It retains the traditional Mini silhouette and gets oblong LED tail-lamps.

The front features circular LED headlamps accompanied by circular daytime running lamps (DRLs) and an octagonal grille with a blanked-off centre trim. The grille’s upper section has blacked-out horizontal elements, ‘S’ badging and wide air dams lower down.

The Mini Cooper Convertible retains the overall proportions of its hardtop sibling, but it gains an electrically operated roof that can open or close at speeds of up to 30kph in 18 seconds. The side profile is characterised by 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and black cladding at the bottom that runs along the car’s length, including the wheel arches.

At the rear, the LED tail-lamps with Union Jack detailing have an oblong shape, while those on the hardtop version are triangular. The bumpers feature a dual-tone finish. The centre of the tailgate displays the Mini emblem and the Cooper S branding below.
Mini Cooper Convertible interior details
Gets the same interior as its hardtop counterpart.

The circular design theme of the Cooper convertible extends to its interior. The dual-tone, minimalistic cabin has pill-shaped air vents. The dashboard is finished in sustainable materials and is customisable. In the centre, there’s a 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen infotainment system that’s Android-based and also serves as the instrument cluster. Also on-board is a head-up display (HUD).
The Cooper Convertible could have a similar feature list as its hardtop counterpart, with powered front seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, automatic climate control, a rearview camera, a wireless charging pad, ambient lighting and cruise control as part of the package.
Mini Cooper Convertible powertrain details
Has the same powertrain setup as the hardtop version.

The Mini Cooper Convertible has the same 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine as its hardtop counterpart. It produces 204hp and 300Nm of torque and is paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. However, the Cooper Convertible’s 0-100kph time of 6.9 seconds is slightly slower than that of the hardtop version due to the additional structural bracing required for its chassis.
Mini Cooper S convertible expected price
Prices expected to start at around Rs 50 lakh.
While the standard Cooper S is priced from Rs 43.7 lakh, we expect prices for the Mini Cooper Convertible to start at around Rs 50 lakh. At this price point, the Mini Cooper Convertible has no rivals, and the closest model with an electric folding roof is the MG Cyberster EV, which costs Rs 75 lakh.
