
Land Rover has introduced the range-topping Autobiography trim for its Velar SUV, priced at Rs 89.90 lakh, ex-showroom. Available in both petrol and diesel guises, the Velar Autobiography costs Rs 5 lakh more than the base Dynamic SE variant, which only gets the petrol powertrain. Along with the additional powertrain option, the Autobiography boasts distinctive cosmetic elements.

The Autobiography trim stands out with Burnished Copper accents on the bumpers and front fenders, as well as the ‘Range Rover’ lettering on the bonnet and tailgate. It also brings along a subtle update to the LED headlamps and redesigned 20-inch alloy wheels with new Satin Dark Grey paint. Further, the Velar Autobiography introduces four exclusive exterior shades, including Ostuni Pearl White, Varesine Blue, Arroios Grey and Batumi Gold.

11.4-inch touchscreen, Meridian sound system with surround sound

The RR Velar Autobiography gets exclusive options for the leather upholstery: Cloud/Ebony, Deep Garnet/Ebony and Caraway/Ebony. Features retained in the new Velar variant are an 11.4-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 12.3-inch driver’s display, 4-zone AC, air purifier and Meridian audio system, though the audio system has been upgraded with 3D surround sound tech. Velar Autobiography buyers can opt for a panoramic sunroof and 20-way massaging front seats with powered recline, options unavailable with the Dynamic SE trim.

The Terrain Response 2 with Dynamic Program (accessed via the touchscreen) is exclusive to the Range Rover Velar Autobiography. Safety aids include a 360-degree camera, ABS, EBD, hill-descent control, a wade-sensing system and front and rear parking sensors.

250hp turbo-petrol, 204hp diesel options
The Velar Autobiography petrol (P250) shares its 250hp, 365Nm 2-litre turbo-petrol engine with the Dynamic SE. The 2-litre Velar diesel (D200), on the other hand, adds a mild hybrid system and belts out 204hp and 430Nm. The 0-100kph sprints in the petrol and diesel versions are done in 7.5 seconds and 8.3 seconds, respectively. Automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard across Velar variants.
