Fascia has a shark nose profile

The new 2 Series Gran Coupe sports a more angular design than its predecessor, and it is 20mm longer, 15mm wider and 15mm taller. Up front, it gets sleeker adaptive LED headlights with diagonally arranged daytime running lamps, below which you’ll find vertically oriented air intakes flanking a large air dam. The iconic BMW kidney grille is more of a single unit on the new 2 Series Gran Coupe, with vertical and diagonal slats, a blocked-off section in the centre and an illuminated frame.
Over to the side, the sedan has a few character lines on the doors, 18-inch alloy wheels and a ‘2’ engraved in the Hofmeister kink at the trailing end of the window line. Finally, the rear end of the 2 Series Gran Coupe sees the slim tail-lamps of the outgoing model eschewed in favour of chunkier units with a cut-out section at the bottom. The rear bumper features a sporty diffuser-like design, and there are vertical faux air exits on either side.

Dual-screen setup is angled towards the driver

Dominating the new 2 Series Gran Coupe’s interior is a curved dual-screen setup comprising a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.24-inch digital driver’s display. There’s a 3-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters as well, and the centre console is largely devoid of physical controls; most functions have been folded into the touchscreen.
Roof-mounted camera can capture photos and videos

Ambient lighting beneath the aircon vents glows blue or red depending on whether the AC temperature is being decreased or increased, and below, you’ll find a cluster of buttons that provide quick access to the gear selector, drive modes and a roof-mounted camera. For the 2 Series Gran Coupe, the roof-mounted camera is a new feature that can click photos or record videos of occupants, which can be exported to a smartphone.
Digital key allows for remote control of certain vehicle functions
Another neat feature addition for the new 2 Series Gran Coupe is the digital key, which enables in-car functions like locking/unlocking, cabin pre-cooling, and boot access to be remotely controlled via a smartphone and can be shared with up to five users.

Additionally, the new 2 Series Gran Coupe offers features like a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad, a 360-degree camera, auto-park assist, rear AC vents, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, blind-spot monitor, lane-keep assist, and more. However, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control and rear sunshades are not part of the equipment list.

For reference, the previous 2 Series Gran Coupe came with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol unit that developed 176hp and 280Nm. Moreover, the previous 2 Series offered a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine option, which churned out 190hp and 400Nm.
1.5 seconds slower in 0-100kph sprint
