The new Bentley Bentayga Speed has been revealed as the British carmaker’s quickest SUV to date. The 2025 Bentayga Speed swaps the predecessor’s W12 engine for a smaller V8, resulting in much reduced weight. Bentley also claims that the latest Bentayga Speed is more powerful, faster to sprint from rest and has a higher top speed.
- The latest Bentayga Speed shaves 42kg for a kerb weight of 2,466kg
- Much of the reduction in weight is due to the smaller V8 engine
- Lamborghini Urus SE, Aston Martin DBX 707 are rivals of the Bentayga Speed
New Bentley Bentayga Speed: 0-100kph time and top speed
0-100kph takes 3.6 seconds, top speed is 310kph
Powering the 2025 Bentley Bentayga Speed is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, producing 650hp and 850Nm of torque. The Bentayga Speed SUV sprints from 0 to 100kph in just 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310kph. Compared to its predecessor’s 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine, which made 635hp and 900Nm, the new powerplant delivers 15hp more; only torque sees a slight drop of 50Nm. Also, the V8 Bentayga Speed marks a significant improvement over the W12’s 3.9-second 0 to 100kph time and 306kph top speed. A standard sports exhaust is included, while an optional Akrapovic titanium system is available for even more “power, drama and potency of the V8”.
The new Bentayga Speed also shaves 42kg for a kerb weight of 2,466kg, and much of that reduction is thanks to the smaller engine. Bentley engineers have also reworked the drive modes, including the Sport mode that increases the dampers’ stiffness by 15 percent and relaxes ESC to permit “exhilarating drift angles”. Meanwhile, the rear-wheel steering is useful for both low-speed manoeuvrability and high-speed stability.
