Tata has given the Punch EV a facelift that incorporates many of the changes seen on the ICE Punch facelift launched in January 2026, as well as larger battery packs. Let’s look at everything concerning the 2026 Punch EV facelift, including its prices, variants, features, and more.
2026 Tata Punch EV price and powertrains
Punch EV facelift is up to Rs 1.85 lakh cheaper than its predecessor
The 2026 Punch EV prices start at Rs 9.69 lakh and top off at Rs 12.59 lakh, making it up to Rs 1.85 lakh more affordable than the outgoing model. However, it’s worth noting that these prices are introductory and are subject to increases in the near future.
In a first for a Tata car, a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) rental programme is also available with the Punch EV. Under this scheme, the Punch EV prices start at Rs 6.49 lakh, and there’s a battery usage cost of as low as Rs 2.6 per kilometre. The updated Punch EV is available in five trim levels, namely Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+.
Tata offers the 2026 Punch EV with 30kWh and 40kWh battery options – an increase of 5kWh each over the outgoing model’s batteries. A lifetime battery warranty with unlimited kilometres is also on offer for the Punch EV 40kWh, while the 30kWh variants get an 8-year/1,60,000km warranty.
As before, both batteries are wired to a 154Nm front-mounted electric motor that puts out 88hp in 30kWh guise and 129hp in the 40kWh variants. The ARAI-rated range stands at 365km and 468km for the 30kWh and 40kWh batteries, respectively.
As for charging, the 30kWh and 40kWh batteries take 4.5 hours and 5.3 hours, respectively, for a 10-100 percent top-up using a 7.2kW AC charger, whereas a 65kW DC fast charger can juice up both packs from 20 to 80 percent in 26 minutes. Tata also claims that 15 minutes of DC charging can provide a range top-up of 110km for the 30kWh battery and 135km for the 40kWh unit.
2026 Tata Punch EV colour options
Seven paint options, but availability varies by trim level

The updated Punch EV is available with a rejigged gamut of colours, though the options vary by trim level. For the Punch EV Smart trim, the available colours comprise Supernova Copper, Bengal Rouge, Pure Grey and Pristine White. Punch EV Adventure buyers can additionally go with Caramel, while the Empowered and Empowered+ trims also offer Fearless Yellow and Empowered Oxide options.

Which variant of the 2026 Tata Punch EV should you consider buying?
Most creature comforts restricted to top two Punch EV variants
As far as safety goes, the Punch EV is quite well-equipped from the base variant itself. However, Tata has locked many useful features, such as a 360-degree camera, a blind-spot monitor, a cabin air purifier, a cooled glove box, an auto-dimming IRVM, front and rear armrests, ventilated front seats, LED fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, and more, to the top-spec Punch EV Empowered and Empowered+ variants.
Nice-to-have goodies such as a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a sunroof, and LED headlights and tail-lamps, among other features, are also available only in those Punch EV variants. Therefore, if your budget allows, go for the Punch EV Empowered, or even the Empowered+, as there’s only a Rs 30,000 gap between them. If you can live without the aforementioned features, the Punch EV Smart+ 40kWh offers great value for money at Rs 10.89 lakh.
All prices are ex-showroom, India.
