MG Majestor Exterior Design
The new Majestor aims to take on the best-selling Toyota Fortuner with a bold design. The Majestor will feature a bolder front end than the Gloster with highlights such as a large rectangular grille, slim LED DRLs at the edge of the bonnet and LED headlamps mounted on a muscular bumper. It also features faux silver skid plates for a rugged look.
Around the side, the Majestor looks largely identical to the Gloster. However, based on the recent teasers, we expect the Majestor to offer different 19-inch alloy wheels. Highlights include black lower cladding, bulbous wheel arches, and ORVMs mounted on the front door sheet metal rather than the base of the front quarter glass. At the rear, the Majestor will offer connected LED tail lamps, a bumper with black cladding and a twin exhaust setup.
MG Majestor Interior And Features
While MG have not revealed the interior of the Majestor yet, we expect it to be identical to the Rakan sold overseas. The Rakan is offered with a dual-tone brown and white interior theme. Top features include:
- 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- 8-inch digital driver’s display
- Panoramic sunroof
- Dual front wireless chargers
- Multi-zone climate control
- Rear AC vents
- 12-speaker JBL sound system
- Leatherette upholstery
- Front seats with massage function
- Powered tailgate
In terms of safety, we expect the Majestor to offer 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, all 4 disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors, and Level-2 ADAS.
MG Majestor Expected Powertrain Options
The Majestor is expected to be offered with the same 2-litre diesel engine as the Gloster. However, unlike the Gloster, which comes with the option of a single and twin turbo setup, we expect the Majestor to be offered with the latter option. The Majestor will also offer 4-wheel-drive with multiple terrain modes (Gloster features 7 terrain modes). Here are the expected performance specifications of the Majestor’s 2L twin turbo diesel engine:

MG Majestor Expected Prices And Rivals
Considering MG are marketing the Majestor as a D+ segment SUV and their official website states that the Majestor will sit above the Gloster, we expect them to charge a slight premium over the Gloster. The Gloster is currently priced from Rs. 38.33 lakh to Rs. 43.17 lakh (ex-showroom). So, expect the Majestor to start from Rs. 39.9 lakh for the base model and up to Rs. 45 lakh for the top variant.
When launched, the Majestor will not only take on the Toyota Fortuner, which sits in a lower segment, but also the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is a premium D2-segment SUV.
