The Yamaha EC-06 – based on the River Indie platform – has been launched in India and is the Japanese company’s first EV for our market. The EC-06 is powered by a 4kWh battery, which sends power to a motor rated for 6.7kW of peak power, capable of propelling it to a claimed 79kph top speed. The EC-06’s chassis is very similar to that of the Indie, as is its feature set, which comprises a colour LCD, three riding modes and reverse assist. Currently, the EC-06 is only available in a single Bluish White colour option.
It has very different styling and a much smaller 24.5 litre underseat storage area than the River Indie.
