The Sierra’s turbo petrol will also end up in the Harrier and Safari
An interesting thing to note is that the Sierra will finally get 6 parking sensors in the front and 6 around the back. That is an achievement for Tata Motors, as they currently sell a car as wide as the Safari for close to Rs. 30.0 lakh on-road with only 2 front and 2 rear parking sensors. Auto Expo 2025: Tata Showcase Harrier EV In Production-Ready Form

What looks like an MPV is taking shape of an SUV as we get closer to the design evolution of the Avinya
At the 2025 Mobility Expo, Tata displayed an updated version of the Avinya Concept called the Avinya X
The X is probably supposed to signify that this is an SUV or something and the side profile did look like a curvy luxury crossover
This is the 3rd time we’re seeing the Avinya at the Auto Expo (1st in 2020, 2nd time in 2023)
The Avinya X will sit on a 3rd gen EV platform from Tata.

Auto Expo 2025: Tata Avinya X Concept Showcased With Updated Design

The Punch Flex Fuel was there to satisfy the ‘mantriji’ and their entourage visiting the Mobility Expo
The government wants to switch to ethanol and the Punch Flex Fuel is like Tata Motors giving their word that they will support the government with this initiative and do some of the brainwashing on their behalf as long as there’s something in it for them too. Oops! That last part was supposed to be whispered and I said it out loud.
The special thing about the Punch Flex Fuel is that it’s, according to Tata Motors, capable of running on 100% ethanol
And, its front-to-back dual-tone exterior with a green shade — for those unaware of the fact, painting a car green helps cut down the emissions and fuel consumption by about 8% and the Punch Flex Fuel is getting there with half green exterior. Hence the high demand of the Nexon in green colour. 😉

Tata also brought the old Sierra diesel 4WD deep inside Delhi — on a flat bed, of course
It’s interesting to see that they aren’t shying away from leaning into their history and heritage while reaping all the benefits of removing older cars from the roads
Speaking of heritage, the new Sierra is a fantastic car but calling it a Sierra and saying that it has those genes is a lie. Seeing them side-by-side strongly reaffirmed this point. The OG Sierra had the following features, none of which are available in the new Sierra:
- No side-swinging boot door but a hatchback
- No spare wheel mounted around the back
- 4-doors instead of 2-doors, as the original Sierra
- No 4WD option
- A monocoque platform instead of a rugged body-on-frame
- A 1.5L turbo petrol engine (the display car had a petrol engine)
- No curved rear window glass

Tata also showcased the updated 2025 Tiago
It gets new colour options and it’s probably the only massmarket car to get 3 shades of a single colour; in this case, blue.
The Tiago 2025 gets features like new flat-bottom, dual-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo; the one we see in the Punch EV
It also borrows the larger 10-inch touchscreen from the Punch EV and now has wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay
It now gets parking sensors even in the higher variants; earlier, the Tiago’s higher variants with a rear camera missed out on parking sensors

As usual, Tata had a bunch of “Special” editions at the auto expo
The Bandipur edition had an exterior paint similar to that of the Kazianga edition
Instead of a rhino mascot, these had an elephant badging on the fenders

In terms of most dangerous cars at the Auto Expo, the Safari Stealth takes the top honours
In addition to wearing a black exterior colour, this one also has a non-reflective matte finish, which will make it extremely difficult to see in the dark, especially with its lights turned off
Let’s hope this one never goes on sale. But if:

It does go on sale
And, you end up buying this
And, you have to park it on a not-so-well-lit street
And, somebody rams into it or ends up scratching it with their vehicle:
1. Please don’t ask them: “Dikhta nahi kya?” It’s called “Stealth Edition” for a reason.
2. Instead, apologise for having damaged the other person’s car with your nearly-invisible car.
3. And, don’t hope to achieve perfect finish while removing minor scratches. You can’t just buff out scratches on a matte finish.

After Tiago EV and Sierra, Punch EV was the 3rd Tata car at the Auto Expo with a different, but equally poppy shade of yellow
Other than that, there’s nothing special about this car
On the one hand, Tata are working with such high-viz exterior colours that enhance road safety and on the other, there is black (called Dark Edition) and matte black (called Stealth Edition)
