Mercedes-AMG has released a teaser showing the GT 4-door Coupe EV, which is the prototype version of the Concept AMG GT XX shown in June. It will be the first model built on the AMG.EA (AMG Electric Architecture) platform and is scheduled for a 2026 debut.
In a short promotional film featuring actor Brad Pitt and Mercedes F1 driver George Russell, Mercedes has positioned the new GT as part of AMG’s performance and motorsport lineage.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 4-door Coupe EV: Design and exterior
Fastback silhouette adapted for EV packaging

The teaser shows the GT 4-door Coupe EV keeping the long-bonnet, low fastback shape of its ICE counterpart. The EV adopts smoother surfaces, a cleaner front end and flush door handles, all aimed at improving aerodynamic efficiency. The roofline and rear section also appear more streamlined, suggesting AMG has focused on reducing drag for the electric layout.
Production-ready lighting and finished bodywork indicate the prototype is close to its final form. While the interior hasn’t been revealed, the exterior stance suggests AMG wants to retain the familiar look of its combustion models while adapting the design to suit a dedicated EV platform.

EV platform and motors focused on performance

As stated earlier, the GT 4-door Coupe EV will be the first model to use AMG’s new AMG.EA electric platform. The setup is built around a high-performance battery and new electric motors developed specifically for AMG. These motors, designed to be compact and deliver high output, are expected to maintain strong performance during repeated acceleration runs.
AMG has also indicated it will use axial-flux motors and a liquid-cooled battery system for this platform. The focus is on efficient cooling and stable power delivery, both of which will be key to positioning the GT EV as a performance-oriented four-door model.
