Based on the spy shots and several teasers released by Mahindra so far, here’s what we can expect from the Vision SXT concept on August 15:
Mahindra Vision SXT Design
As far as design is concerned, we expect the Vision SXT to serve as a preview to the production-spec Scorpio N pick up. The teasers and spy shots suggest that the Vision SXT will feature a different front fascia over the Scorpio N. We expect the Vision SXT to get an upright grille with horizontal slats. It could also get different LED headlamps and taillamps to set it self apart from the Scorpio N SUV.
The spy shot suggests the Vision SXT will be longer than the Scorpio N thanks to a large truck bed with a long rear overhang. We expect it to measure around 5300mm, which would put it in the same size bracket as the Toyota Hilux.
Mahindra Vision SXT Features
The Mahindra Vision SXT is expected to be based on the same ladder frame chassis as the Scorpio N. We expect it to offer LED lighting all around. It could also offer a bolder front grille, vertically-stacked LED DRLs and a sturdy bumper.
While the test mule does not feature wheel arch claddings, we expect the Vision SXT concept to offer black wheel arches with thick body cladding and side skirting.
While the test mule looks quite bland in comparison to the concept that was showcased, we could expect Mahindra to offer the Vision SXT with a snorkel, a roof rack, individual side steps for all doors, and a roll over bar atop the rear bed. The latest teaser for the Vision SXT also suggests it could offer 2 spare tyres strapped on to the truck bed.
Mahindra Vision SXT Expected Features
In terms of features, the Mahindra Vision SXT is expedited to offer Level-2 Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS), 5G connectivity, electric sunroof, trailer sway mitigation, and semi-autonomous parking. It could also offer multiple terrain modes for off-roading. Mahindra will reveal more features of the Vision SXT on August 15.
Mahindra Vision SXT Powertrain Details
The Mahindra Vision SXT is expected to be powered by the brand’s 2.2L diesel engine. The engine will come mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Furthermore, the Vision SXT is also expected to offer a capable 4WD system with shift on the fly. In other markets where petrol engines are more popular, Mahindra could offer the production version of the Vision SXT with the Scorpio N’s 2L turbo petrol engine.
