
Hyundai India has expanded its Knight line-up in the country by launching all-black versions of the i20 and i20 N Line. Priced from Rs 9.15 lakh, the Hyundai i20 Knight and i20 N Line Knight trims are based on the respective higher-spec variants, and along with cosmetic changes, they also get a few feature additions.

The i20 Knight is based on either the higher-spec Sportz (O) manual gearbox variant or the top-spec Asta (O) CVT variant. In etither case, the i20 Knight costs Rs 10,000 more than the variant it is based on. Hyundai has also added a rear spoiler across the top-spec i20 Asta and Asta (O) trims, while the Asta (O) CVT variant additionally gets a dashcam and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Interestingly, prices for the i20 Asta MT and and the Asta (O) CVT have increased by Rs 4,000 and Rs 15,000, respectively, while the Asta (O) MT’s price remains unchanged.
The i20 Knight is powered by the 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine, which comes with CVT and 5-speed manual gearbox options, like the rest of the hatchback’s range.

The i20 N Line Knight is based on the top-spec N8 variant, and costs Rs 12,000 more, though these new variants cost Rs 3,000 less than the N8 dual-tone variants. Features in addition to the top-spec N Line variant include a dashcam and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The N Line Knight has the same powertrain options as the standard i20 N Line – a 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 7-speed dual-clutch auto and 6-speed manual gearbox options.
Hyundai i20 Knight and i20 N Line Knight exterior and interior changes
Gets black alloys, front and rear skid plates, ORVMs and logos, along with red brake calipers
On the outside, the Knight editions of the Hyundai premium hatchback feature black alloy wheels, red brake calipers, blacked-out front and rear skid plates, black ORVMS and side sill garnish, matte black Hyundai logos, and a Knight logo. The i20 N Line Knight additionally gets black roof rails as well.
The interior of the i20 and N Line Knight variants get an all-black theme with brass colour inserts, which also extends to the black and brass seat upholstery. These all-black variants also get metal pedals for the accelerator, brake and clutch (MT only).
