Land Rover Classic has introduced the remastered Classic Defender range with a V8 engine across all three models – 90 Station Wagon, 110 Station Wagon and 90 Soft Top – through its Works Bespoke programme. The buyers even get the option to match their Classic Defender V8 to the Defender Octa through new exterior colours and interior materials.
Land Rover Classic is a JLR division that provides maintenance for the company’s classic models and also sources them for its Approved Vehicle programme.
- Classic Defender V8 is available in eight exterior colours
- Custom restoration includes a 400hp 5.0-litre V8 and upgraded suspension
- Interior available in three Ultrafabrics PU and two leather options
New Color and Material Options
Land Rover Classic uses Ultrafabrics PU material for interior for the first time.
The five new colours include Petra Copper, Faroe Green, Sargasso Blue, Narvik Black and Patagonia White. These add to existing Borasco Grey, Carpathian Grey and Charente Grey options. Buyers can choose between gloss and satin finishes, with satin resembling the Octa’s optional Matte Protective Film.

For interior, Land Rover Classic has also introduced a lightweight, premium Ultrafabrics PU material, a sustainable alternative to leather. The material is available in three colours: Khaki Green, Light Cloud and Lunar. Leather options include Burnt Sienna semi-aniline and Ebony. The Classic Defender V8 also offers heated Recaro sports seats as an option.
Classic Defender V8 Specifications
Each classic vehicle undergoes 300 hours of paintwork.
The company sources vehicles from the 2012-2016 production run and strips them at its Coventry facility. What follows is a comprehensive rebuild with a 400hp 5.0-litre V8 engine paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The suspension gets custom springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, while braking hardware includes 335mm front and 300mm rear discs with 4-piston calipers.

The paint shop handles each vehicle for 300 hours, from preparation through colour-matching to final polish. Buyers can further customise their vehicles with a gloss-black radiator grille, carbon-fibre bonnet script and five wheel styles in 11 finishes, available in 16-inch and 18-inch sizes. Each vehicle comes with a one-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
