The 3-row version, which is the Hector Plus, will get tan/light brown interiors while the 2-row variants (standard Hector) will get light grey interior theme. Both cabin layouts will get dual-tone treatment for some contrast.

MG Hector 2026 — New Features

On the feature front, we have learned that the new Hector and Hector Plus will get 10GB RAM. It’s unclear how much of this will be actual RAM and what percentage will be virtual RAM. most likely, it will get 6 or 8 GB RAM with the rest being of the virtual kind.

We hope that this higher RAM helps take care of the complaints about the slow interface.

The Hector twins already have a 360-degree camera but for 2026 update, the car will get higher resolution cameras.

Finally, we have information about the gesture control. The new Hector and Hector Plus will get 2-finger and 3-finger gestures for AC and music controls, respectively. Most likely, the 3-finger up/down gesture will control volume while 3-finger left/right swipe will let you skip tracks. 2-finger gestures will also use similar up/down and sideways swipes to let you adjust fan speed and temperature.

These gestures will significantly cut down on the time required to perform basic actions on the touchscreen without the need for physical controls. This is a constant complaint from a lot of car buyers as car manufacturers are deleting physical controls and moving them to touchscreen. This simple feature will also make driving safer as you will no longer have to take your eyes off the road to use basic features such as music controls and AC controls.
