
Citroen has launched the Aircross with the ‘X’ badge, introducing changes across its variant line-up, bringing in new interior materials and new features. This launch follows similar treatment to the other models in its line-up, namely the C3 and Basalt. Read on to know what’s new with the Aircross X, its features and the variants we’d recommend. Do note that the base ‘You’ variant has received no changes, retains the old dashboard and doesn’t get the ‘X’ badging.

Citroen Aircross X engine and gearbox options
Comes with naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol options.
The Aircross’s base You variant comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine producing 82hp, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission only. The mid-level X Plus is available with the option of the NA unit or a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The top-level X Max variant comes only with the turbocharged petrol engine, and it is the only one to come with a 6-speed torque converter automatic. A CNG kit can be added as a dealer-level fitment only with the Aircross with the NA mill.

Which variant of the Citroen Aircross X should you go for?
For buyers on a strict budget, we’d recommend the Aircross X Plus with the naturally aspirated petrol engine, as it comes with most of the features under Rs 10 lakh. For buyers with no budget constraints, we suggest the top-of-the-line Aircross X Max trim with the turbo-petrol automatic, as it offers feel-good features such as seat ventilation, a 360-degree camera, leatherette upholstery and powerful performance of the turbo-petrol with the convenience of the automatic.
