What Are The Pros And Cons Of Maruti Suzuki Victoris?
The pros or advantages of 2025 Maruti Suzuki Victoris petrol are:
- A neat SUV design with simple, straight lines and plush interior
- Option of 4 powertrains (petrol-manual, petrol-auto, hybrid petrol-auto & CNG-manual) & 2 drivetrains (front-wheel drive & 4-wheel drive)
- Maruti’s immense service network and tried & tested powertrains means maintenance as well as access to spares should be easy and affordable with option of OEM as well as OEM-spec parts
- Fantastic ARAI mileage figures with all powertrains
- CNG option with a usable boot space
- Most loaded Maruti car ever as it gets features like powered tail gate, 8-way power driver seat, multi-colour ambient lighting, 5.1 sound system with Dolby Atmos tuning, front parking sensors, radar-based ADAS & blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, etc.
- Surprisingly well-loaded base model with must-have features like front & rear armrests, split rear seatbacks, tilt & telescopic steering, rear defogger, halogen headlamps, touchscreen w/ wireless phone connectivity, rear reading lamps, keyless entry & go, power mirrors and all adjustable headrests
- 5-star BNCAP rating with standard safety features like ESC, HSA, traction control, rear defogger, 6 airbags, ABS and 5x 3-point seatbelts
- Option of buying the top model without sunroof
The Maruti Victoris 2025 has the following shortcomings or problems:
- Dull powertrain options; the 1.5L normal engine is in dire need of a 6th gear with manual transmission but it doesn’t get it; meanwhile, the automatic is geared taller and isn’t peppy for city use and the hybrid gets a 3-cylinder engine, which is not great in terms of refinement for a car of this size and segment
- E-parking brake is not available with manual transmission and hybrid petrol powertrain
- Panoramic sunroof is not available with any CNG variant
- Hybrid adds to the mechanical complexity and long term maintenance cost as you can neither find competent mechanics nor the right spares at local garages to repair the car
- No spare wheel in any variant may affect the buying decision of some buyers
- Missing features such as rear window curtains, memory for power driver seat, electronic parking brake (not available with hybrid and manual transmission)
- ADAS limited to petrol-automatic powertrain only; not even available with hybrid powertrain
New Maruti Suzuki Victoris LXI — Base Model Standard Features
The base LXI variant of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris 2025 only comes with the 1.5L normal petrol-manual and 1.5L CNG-manual powertrain options.

The base variant seems to have several must-have features but you may miss the following notable features:
- Height-adjustable driver seat
- Vanity mirror
- TPMS
- Body-coloured door handles & mirrors
Whether you are interested in the petrol-manual or CNG-manual powertrain, the base model of the Victoris seems quite well loaded considering the segment and our expected price of the upcoming Maruti SUV. This is a suitable choice for budget-conscious buyers.
2025 Maruti Suzuki Victoris LXI vs VXI Variant — Feature Comparison
In addition to the petrol-manual & CNG-manual powertrains, the VXI variant of the Victoris also gets the option of petrol-automatic and hybrid petrol-automatic.

In the VXI variant, you may miss features such as:
- Rear window curtains
- Speakers (only 2 speaker & 2 tweeter setup)
- Electronic parking brake (not available with hybrid)
- Rear washer wiper
- LED projector headlamps
With the base + 1 variant, we have usually seen that Maruti Suzuki usually price them quite high so as to encourage buyers towards higher variants. If they play this card with the Victoris, then you should either buy the lower LXI variant or stretch your budget for the higher, ZXI variant. Either way, it’s a good idea to hold your decision if VXI seems suitable for your feature preference.
With automatic transmission options (petrol-AT and hybrid), we believe the base model may be worth considering. However, here too, we expect Maruti to price the higher, ZXI trim, quite well and this upgrade may be well worth the incremental cost.
New Maruti Suzuki Victoris VXI vs ZXI & ZXI (O) Variant — Feature Comparison
The ZXI and ZXI (O) variants mostly retain the same powertrain options as the lower VXI variant. Only in the ZXI (O) variant, you don’t get the CNG option. So, for Victoris CNG buyers, the ZXI is the top variant.

You may miss the following features in the ZXI/ZXI (O) variant:
- Rear window curtains
- Speakers (only 2 speaker & 2 tweeter setup)
- Electronic parking brake (not available with hybrid)
- Front parking sensors
- Front seat ventilation
As usual, Maruti’s ZXI or Zeta variants are generally well loaded and usually the most value-for-money options in the entire variant lineup. Hence, we expect this variant to offer a better VFM score than most other variants. This variant also offers a balanced set of features with a nice mix of must-have and good-to-have features. For now, ZXI remains our top recommendation for all Victoris buyers. You can change your booking after the prices are revealed. So, if the ZXI Plus ends up offering even better value, then you can upgrade to it or even drop down to VXI if ZXI is not well priced.
New Maruti Suzuki Victoris ZXI vs ZXI Plus & ZXI Plus (O) Variant — Feature Comparison
The ZXI Plus and ZXI Plus (O) variants don’t get CNG powertrain but they add the 4WD option to the mix.

You may miss the following features in the ZXI Plus/ZXI Plus (O) variant:
- Rear window curtains
- Electronic parking brake (not available with hybrid)
- Memory for power driver seat
The top variant of the Victoris 2025 offers some must-have and a bunch of good-to-have features. It’s quite a shame that ADAS features remain exclusively available with the petrol-automatic powertrain. Even hybrid powertrain doesn’t get these features. Meanwhile, Honda even offer ADAS features with the manual transmission.
From a recommendation angle, if you’re interested in the top model but also want a decent value package, then we believe you should book the lower ZXI variant and wait for the price reveal. If the ZXI Plus variant gets a good pricing, then you can upgrade your booking. If not, then you can continue with the ZXI or ZXI (O), which is likely to offer the best VFM score.
Which Variant Of The Maruti Suzuki Victoris Should You Book?
Among Victoris petrol-manual and CNG-manual variants, the base model seems like a solid choice for budget-conscious buyers. VXI may come with a horrible value for money with a large incremental price premium. So, we will suggest you book the base variant and upgrade to VXI if it ends up with a reasonable price tag.
ZXI and ZXI (O) remain our top picks as Maruti usually price this variant (ZXI or Zeta) quite well. This one-below-top variant also usually gets a balanced set of features with almost all must-have and some good-to-have features. Unless you don’t care about the asking price, we will suggest booking the ZXI or ZXI (O) and waiting for price reveal. If it’s priced reasonably, only then you should upgrade to the ZXI Plus or ZXI Plus (O). Or you can continue with the ZXI/ZXI (O).

For buyers interested in automatic transmission, the base VXI petrol-auto as well as hybrid petrol are good options for budget-conscious buyers. However, we expect the ZXI to offer a better value for money score, even if it comes at the cost of paying for some good-to-have features. From there, you can either upgrade to ZXI Plus or ZXI Plus (O) depending on how well they price them or continue with ZXI or ZXI (O). If you want a fully-loaded experience, then you have little choice as all of the ADAS kit is exclusively available with the top-spec petrol-automatic powertrain only. Even the hybrid doesn’t get that stuff. In fact, the hybrid doesn’t even get an electronic parking brake.
Lastly, if you are interested in 4WD, then all you should do is wait. We don’t know how well or how poorly Maruti are going to price it.

What Are The Engine Specifications Of The Maruti Victoris 2025?
Against the base petrol engines of its rival, the Victoris has lower power and torque output. It’s also one of the few cars in this segment to offer a 5-speed manual transmission besides Astor and the sister cars (Vitara/Hyryder).
However, in mileage terms, it’s quite good; just like the sister cars (Vitara/Hyryder).

Compared to the base turbo petrol engines of its rivals, the performance deficiency becomes more apparent. Turbo petrol cars, even with much lesser displacement, offer superior torque output and better power figures too. The only trump card up the Victoris’ sleeve is its claimed mileage figures.

Against the high-performance engines, the Victoris only holds its own against Vitara hybrid & Hyryder hybrid. The other cars with 1.5L turbo petrol engines absolutely embarrass the Victoris and its sister SUVs (Victoris/Hyryder) with incredible power & torque output figures. Moreover, with the Kushaq & Taigun’s cylinder deactivation tech, the compromise in fuel efficiency is also acceptable.

What Are The Dimensions Of The 2025 Maruti Suzuki Victoris?
The Victoris is about as long, about as wide and similarly tall as the Hyryder and pretty much most other C segment SUVs. We don’t know its ground clearance yet but we expect it to be pretty good like the Grand Vitara and Hyryder. In terms of tyre size, it gets 17-inch wheels as standard across the range.
The following table presents a dimension comparison of the Victoris against Korean & Japanese rivals:
