
Mahindra announced prices of its XEV 9e flagship electric SUV in February 2025, with deliveries starting in March. To widen its appeal and accessibility, Mahindra also introduced the long-range battery pack, earlier limited to the top trim, in a lower variant. 1. What is the Mahindra XEV 9e price?
Rs 21.90 lakh onwards.
The XEV 9e is available in four variants – Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three. Ex-showroom prices start at 21.90 lakh and go up to Rs 31.25 lakh. On-road, Delhi prices are between Rs 23.21 lakh and Rs 33.33 lakh. A charger is optional with the Mahindra SUV, and is priced at Rs 50,000 (7.2kW) and Rs 75,000 (11.2kW). 2. What is the Mahindra XEV 9e range on a single charge?
Between 542km and 656km on the MIDC.
The XEV 9e comes with two battery pack options: 59kWh and 79kWh. On the Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC), the smaller battery returns 542km, while the bigger unit is good for 656km.
Charging the XEV 9e 59kWh takes 8.7 hours with a 7.2kW AC charger, 6 hours with a 11.2kW AC charger, and just 20 minutes on a 140kW DC fast charger. The larger 79kWh pack has charging times of 11.7 hours with the 7.2kW charger, 8 hours with the 11.2kW charger and 20 minutes on the 180kW unit.
3. Is the Tata Harrier EV real world range more than Mahindra XEV 9e?
Top-spec XEV 9e returns 55km more on a single charge.
We recently did a real world range comparison test of the top trims of the Tata Harrier EV (75kWh) and the Mahindra XEV 9e (79kWh). The XEV 9e returned a real world range of 456km combined (city 425km, highway 488km), whereas the Harrier EV was 55km behind, with a combined range of 401km (city 409km, highway 393km). The Mahindra SUV is also faster to charge with a DC charger, but the Tata has a quicker AC charging time. We are yet to test the XEV 9e 59kWh version in real-world conditions.
4. What is the Mahindra XEV 9e ground clearance?
207mm.
Unladen ground clearance of the XEV 9e stands at 207mm. From the lowest point of the battery pack to the ground, it is 218mm. Its dimensions are 4,789mm (length), 1,907mm (width), 1,694mm (height) and 2,775mm (wheelbase).
5. How many screens does the Mahindra XEV 9e interior have?
Three 12.3-inch digital displays.
As standard, all XEV 9e variants feature three digital screens, including a driver’s display, a central touchscreen and a passenger unit. Each screen measures 12.3-inch, but the middle unit houses key car controls such as drive modes and climate control. The XEV 9e top model even features ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof (fixed) with embedded lights, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, and more.
6. Is the Mahindra XEV 9e prone to software niggles?
Driver’s display going blank, failed smartphone integration reported by some.
While the touchscreen is slick, responsive to inputs and packed with features, our XEV 9e review found its user interface to be confusing. That said, Mahindra had then assured that the test vehicle had a beta unit installed and things will be sorted. Some users have also reported other software-related issues like driver’s display blanking out, non-responsive MAIA AI assistant and wireless smartphone integration failing.
