Mahindra has a gala event lined up for Independence Day, where it is going to unveil four new concept SUVs as well as an all-new platform vision. And while that’s likely to be the mainstay of the event, the homegrown carmaker has dropped yet another teaser of what looks like a Dark Edition of the BE 6 electric SUV.

- Likely to be based on the top trim
Mahindra BE 6 Dark Edition: what to expect?
Mahindra’s teaser doesn’t reveal much, but the edgy styling of the SUV clearly suggests that it is the BE 6. As with all Dark Edition cars, expect all-black treatment inside and out. A brief glimpse of the face of the SUV in the teaser even suggests a two-tone finish. As is the case with Mahindra’s existing Dark Edition models, it is likely to be based on the top-spec variant of the BE 6.
This is likely to be Mahindra’s first EV to get a Dark Edition variant, and the XEV 9e can very well be expected to follow. Currently, Mahindra offers Dark Edition variants with the XUV700 and Scorpio N SUVs. It is, however, not clear what exactly this will be called since Mahindra doesn’t have a specific Dark Edition variant nomenclature – the XUV700 Dark Edition is called Ebony, while the Scorpio N gets a Carbon Edition.
What else to expect from Mahindra Independence Day?

Mahindra has been drip-feeding teasers of four concept SUVs – Vision T, Vision S, Vision X and Vision SXT – which are expected to be underpinned by an all-new flexible architecture that’s compatible with both ICE and electric powertrains. The homegrown carmaker is also expected to unveil an all-new compact SUV alongside these four concepts. Stay tuned for more details.
