Range Rover SV, the top trim of the British brand’s flagship SUV, has received a Black edition with a darkened-out treatment to its exterior and interior bits, along with added features. The Range Rover luxury off-roader gets Burford and Lansdowne editions in some foreign markets, whereas the Ranthambore and Masara versions are exclusive to India. Notably, this comes just days after Black editions for the Defender Octa and Range Rover Sport SV were unveiled globally.
- Black-themed logos, alloy wheels and upholstery
- Transducers in floor and seats that generate vibrations in sync with music
- The all-black SUV is powered by a BMW-sourced 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine

Range Rover SV Black edition: What’s new?
Narvik Gloss Black shade, Body and Soul Seat sound system

Like the Sport and Defender Black edition SUVs, the Range Rover features the Narvik Gloss Black paint, which is the “darkest and stealthiest” on an RR SUV ever, as per the British marque. Also common between the three are blacked-out logos, grilles, alloy wheels (23-inch on the Range Rover SV) and brake calipers.

The interior, unsurprisingly, boasts ebony leather upholstery. Additionally, the seats’ upper half gets distinct diagonal stitching patterns, and there’s a black birch wood veneer and a satin-black ceramic finish for the gearshift lever. Range Rover has also made its Body and Soul Seat (BASS) and Sensory Floor systems standard on all SV trims. Using transducers embedded in the seats and floor, vibrations are created that sync with the audio to let occupants “physically feel the music”. This RR SV Black edition will be offered with 5-seat standard wheelbase and 4/5-seat long-wheelbase models.

Under the hood, the RR SV continues to feature the BMW-sourced 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 pot mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. With outputs of 615hp and 750Nm sent to all four wheels, the Range Rover SV does the 0-100kph sprint in just 4.5 seconds.
