Mercedes-Benz recently launched the new-gen AMG GT sports car in India, which will sit at the pinnacle of the German carmaker’s performance line-up. Buyers of the new AMG GT can opt between two variants: the standard GT 63 4Matic+, or the edgier GT 63 Pro 4Matic+. Should you be in the market for a new AMG GT, we’ve answered some of the most prevalent questions around the sports car below.
What is the Mercedes AMG GT price in India?

The new Mercedes-AMG GT starts at Rs 3 crore for the GT 63 variant, while the GT 63 Pro costs Rs 3.65 lakh. Deliveries of the AMG GT 63 will begin by Q4 (October-Decemer) 2025, while AMG GT 63 Pro buyers will begin receiving their units by Q1 (January-March) 2026.
Compared to its closest rival – the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS (Rs 2.84 crore) – the Mercedes sports car commands a premium of Rs 16 lakh, and as for the Mercedes-AMG GT’s on-road price, expect it to be in the Rs 3.50 crore ballpark for the GT 63 and Rs 4.35 crore range for the GT 63 Pro .
How much power does the Mercedes AMG GT make?
Up to 612hp and 850Nm

The new AMG GT 63 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that develops 585hp and 800Nm, with the GT 63 Pro bumping up the output to 612hp and 850Nm. Both AMG GT versions get a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission as standard, which funnels power to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. Interestingly, the AMG GT’s gearbox is fitted with a wet “starter” clutch to allow for smoother launches, and both variants get rear-wheel steering as well.
What is the top speed of the Mercedes AMG GT?
GT Pro top speed is higher by 2kph
The AMG GT 63 can achieve a claimed top speed of 315kph, with a 0-100kph time of 3.2 seconds and 0-200kph dealt with in 11.4 seconds. Meanwhile, the GT 63 Pro’s claimed top speed is slightly higher at 317kph, and if specced with Cup 2R tyres, it can dispatch the 0-100kph run in 3.1 seconds and the 0-200kph dash in 10.9 seconds.
What is the difference between the AMG GT and GT Pro?
GT Pro is faster, more powerful, and looks meaner

The AMG GT 63 is essentially the ‘base’ version of the GT line-up in India, while the GT 63 Pro is a sharper, more track-focused version. Not only does the GT 63 Pro develop 27hp and 50Nm more than the GT 63, the former is also 0.1 seconds quicker to 100kph from rest (if optioned with Cup 2R tyres), 0.5 seconds quicker to 200kph, and has a 2kph higher top speed.
For the Rs 65 lakh premium, the GT 63 Pro looks more aggressive and purposeful than the GT 63, thanks to larger air curtains on the front bumper, trim strips on the side sills, lighter wheels, bigger brakes, a front splitter, rear diffuser, and a carbonfibre wing. Lastly, engine cooling has been enhanced on the GT 63 Pro, and it’s equipped with grippier tyres as well.
What features does the Mercedes AMG GT offer?
Two extra seats and more cabin space than previous-gen AMG GT

The new AMG GT has grown in every proportion compared to the prior-gen model, allowing for a roomier interior, more cargo space, and even a 2+2 seating layout – the previous AMG GT was strictly a 2-seater. It’s worth noting, though, that the GT 63 Pro is a 2-seater due to its greater focus on performance.
