2025 Thar Facelift Exterior Design: A Refreshed Yet Recognisable Look
The spy pictures suggest that while the Thar will retain its signature tough and boxy appeal, it will get a range of visual upgrades. Spy shots confirm the Thar facelift will get various design elements from the larger Thar Roxx, such as the grille, LED headlights and LED tail lights. It also features new bumpers at the front and rear and slight tweaks to the fenders on all four corners. While the Thar facelift retains the current hardtop, spy shots suggest it could get new 5-spoke alloy wheels.
Last month, Mahindra discontinued the soft-top variants of the Thar and we do not expect these variants to make a comeback with the updated model.

2025 Thar Facelift Interior Upgrades And New Features
The cabin of the Mahindra Thar facelift is also expected to receive subtle upgrades to enhance comfort and technology. The most notable change inside the cabin is a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system borrowed from the Thar Roxx. The 3-door SUV could also gain features such as 360-degree surround view camera, ambient lighting, a branded 6-speaker sound system, and new leatherette seats to elevate the premiumness of the cabin.
In terms of safety features, the updated Thar is expected to offer side curtain airbags in addition to the dual airbags that is currently offered. It could also get the auto-dimming IRVM from the Thar Roxx for better visibility at night.
2025 Thar Powertrain Options To Remain Unchanged
Under the bonnet, the Mahindra Thar facelift is expected to continue offering the same engines and transmission options, including:
- 1.5L diesel (119PS) with 6-speed manual
- 2.2L diesel (132PS) with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic (TC)
- 2L turbo petrol (152PS) with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic (TC)
