Honda launched the third-gen Amaze in India back in December 2024. In the compact segment that’s flooded with SUVs, the Amaze is one of the few cars still offering the appeal of a traditional three-box sedan. It is currently Honda’s bestselling model in India and is an easy-to-live-with, no-nonsense compact car. If you are looking to buy a new Honda Amaze, here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the compact sedan.
What is the Honda Amaze price in India?
The Honda Amaze ex-showroom price in India starts at Rs 8.09 lakh for the V manual variant and goes up to Rs 10 lakh for the top-end ZX. Meanwhile, the Honda Amaze automatic is priced between Rs 9.35 lakh and Rs 11.12 lakh, ex-showroom. Honda Amaze on-road prices roughly range between Rs 9.50 lakh and Rs 13.30 lakh, depending on the city.
What engines are available with the Honda Amaze?
The Honda Amaze is offered with a single petrol engine option that comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 90hp and 11Nm of peak torque. The Amaze also gets a CNG kit, but that comes as a dealer-level fitment and not from the factory.
What is the Honda Amaze mileage like?
The Honda Amaze manual has an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 18.65kpl, while the CVT automatic returns a claimed 19.46kpl. However, in our Honda Amaze CVT real-world efficiency test, we managed an average of 13.28kpl, far from Honda’s claimed figure. Notably, the Amaze doesn’t get drive modes or an Eco setting to keep a check on fuel consumption.
Is the Honda Amaze a well-equipped sedan?
The Honda Amaze is a fairly well-equipped sedan. The top variant comes equipped with auto LED headlamps, 15-inch alloys, keyless entry, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, a semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, automatic climate control, rear air vents, paddle shifters for the CVT gearbox, cruise control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ESP and six airbags.

However, rivals offer larger touchscreens, and the Maruti Dzire even comes equipped with a sunroof and a 360-degree camera. On the other hand, the Amaze is the only sedan in its segment to get an ADAS suite.
Is the Amaze spacious for 3 people in the back?
Three average-sized adults can sit in reasonable comfort in the back of the Amaze, but it’s best suited for four passengers. The Dzire offers better rear-seat comfort for three.

What colours are available with the Honda Amaze?
The Honda Amaze is available with six colour options – Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic and Obsidian Blue Pearl. The base trim, however, is only available with the latter three.
Which is better, Amaze or Dzire?
Between the Amaze and the Dzire, it was the Dzire which won our comparison test. The Dzire feels larger and more expensive on the inside; it has comfier seats, more features and a better ride quality, too. Plus, the engine is more refined and efficient, but what really sweetens the deal is that the Dzire is almost a lakh cheaper at the top-end than the Amaze.
What are some of the negatives of the Honda Amaze?
The Amaze’s petrol engine could have definitely done with better refinement, and overall, noise insulation isn’t too good either. Plus, under full load or on steep inclines, the 1.2-litre petrol engine offers dull performance at the lower end of the rev band. It is also more expensive than its immediate rivals.
