Following the debut of the third-gen Q3 is June, Audi has now taken the wraps off the Q3 Sportback which comes with a coupe-like body style. The new Q3 Sportback is technically identical to regular Q3 SUV save for a sharply raked rear windscreen. The powertrain choices of mild-hybrid petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid have also been carried forward.
- New Q3 Sportback has a 29mm lower roofline
- Interior gets a panoramic curved screen display
- PHEV variant returns up to 118km electric-only range
2025 Audi Q3 Sportback exterior design
The only notable difference on the Q3 Sportback compared to regular Q3 is that the former has a raked roof that’s 29mm lower for a sportier look. This has also brought about a slightly different treatment for the window lone. Interestingly, this hasn’t affected the boot space, which is still rated at 488-litres.
Like the new Q3, the Sportback also gets a split LED Matrix headlamp setup with large portions of the fascia blacked-out for a nice contrasting look. At the rear, it continues with a split tail lamp arrangement and a connecting light bar. It is only when you look at it from profile or from the rear quarters that you can tell the Sportback apart from the regular Q3. Overall, the Q3 Sportback also has some resemblance with some larger Audi models like the new Q5 and the A6 Avant.

2025 Audi Q3 Sportback interior and features
On the inside, the curved panoramic display on the dashboard comprising a 12.8-inch infotainment screen and a 11.9-inch instrument cluster have been carried over, too. One of the more interesting innovations of the new Q3 was the new ‘steering wheel control unit’, which replaced traditional stalks and also doubled up as the drive selector; the same has been carried over here as well. And while there are a few physical buttons on the centre console, the HVAC controls will have to be accessed via the touchscreen. The absence of the drive selector from the centre console, however, does free additional space for a pair of cupholders and a wireless phone charging pad.

2025 Audi Q3 Sportback powertrain options
The new Q3 Sportback powertrain lineup mirrors that of the regular Q3, which means there are two petrol engine, one diesel and one plug-in hybrid powertrain. The range starts with a 150hp/250Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, followed by a larger 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit which comes in two states of tune – 204hp/350Nm and 265hp/400Nm – both of which get Quattro all-wheel drive.

Then there’s the 150hp/360Nm 2.0-litre diesel engine which comes in front-wheel drive configuration. Finally, the Q3 Sportback PHEV pairs the 1.5-litre TFSI with an electric motor for a combined output of 272hp and 400Nm. It uses a 25.7kWh battery for a WLTP-certified electric only range of 118km.
