Maruti Suzuki is readying the e Vitara for its expected launch in January 2026. Ahead of that, the manufacturer has revealed the claimed range and shared its plans for EV charging infrastructure. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Maruti EV.
1. What is the expected Maruti e Vitara price?
Prices are expected to be around Rs 20 lakh, with BaaS lowering it further
The e Vitara prices are expected to be around Rs 20 lakh. While Maruti has yet to reveal them, it has confirmed it will offer the e Vitara with a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) scheme, as MG does for its EVs. So the e Vitara prices could be lower than we expect, as the BaaS scheme will allow people to buy the EV with a battery subscription plan, which ultimately means lower prices but with a subscription cost.
2. What is the battery pack and range of the Maruti e Vitara?
Will get two battery packs and a claimed range of over 500km
The e Vitara will be offered in three trims: Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Among these, the entry-level Delta will come with a 49kWh battery pack, while the higher-spec Zeta and Alpha will get a 61kWh unit.
The bigger battery pack has an ARAI-rated claimed range of 543km. While the ARAI range data for the smaller 49kWh battery pack is unavailable, it has a WLTP-claimed range of around 343km.
While Maruti has yet to reveal details about charging the e Vitara, it has established over 2,000 charging points in 1,100-plus cities across India. By 2030, the company is targeting to set up a network of over 1 lakh charging points in partnership with its dealers and charging point operators.
3. What do the e Vitara’s exterior and interior look like?
Gets a muscular body style and a futuristic interior design
The Maruti e Vitara has a futuristic design with defined contours that make it look aggressive. The EV gets Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), LED projector headlights and LED fog lamps. In typical EV fashion, it gets a blanked-off grille. The lower grille on the bumper features active flaps for improved airflow into the car’s electronics.
In profile, the e Vitara features 18-inch aerodynamically designed alloy wheels and thick black cladding over the wheel arches and lower edges of the doors. The rear door handles are mounted on the C-pillar. The rear features a 3-piece tail-light design that looks similar to the LED DRLs at the front. The rear bumper has black cladding that makes the e Vitara look rugged.
Inside, the Maruti EV has a dual-tone black-and-brown theme, which is also used on the leatherette seat upholstery. Its dashboard features dual integrated displays and a 2-spoke steering wheel. It also gets a floating centre console that houses buttons for drive and regen modes while also featuring a rotary drive selector knob.
4. What are the features available with the Maruti e Vitara?

While the variant-wise feature list is yet to be revealed, Maruti has shared details about the e Vitara’s top offerings. These include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an Infinity sound system, a wireless phone charger, a glass roof and a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat.
The e Vitara will also get a robust safety suite with 7 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera with blind-spot monitor, front and rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold and Level 2 ADAS. It has been crash-tested by Bharat NCAP, where it received a 5-star safety rating.
5. What cars will rival the Maruti e Vitara?
e Vitara will lock horns with popular models like Creta Electric and BE 6
The Maruti e Vitara will rival popular midsize e-SUVs, including the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV. It will also compete with the upcoming Tata Sierra EV, which will launch in 2026.
