The usual industry practice is to give a car one minor update (usually called a facelift) and then a major update (called a generation change). We have seen Tata also do something similar with the Tiago and Tigor. Both of these cars got their 2nd facelift early in 2025. However, a 3rd facelift for the Hector and Hector Plus may feel like stretching the product life too far.
MG Hector 2026 Changes
Our source also informed us that as part of the revision, the Hector and Hector Plus will get the following new features:
- Refreshed new front design
- Refreshed new rear design
- Some kind of gesture control for the touchscreen AC & multimedia controls
- Some change in alloy wheel design
- A new dark blue exterior colour option

On the powertrain front, we shouldn’t expect any revisions. So, we will most likely continue to see the same options as before, which include:
- 1.5L turbo petrol with 6-speed manual transmission
- 1.5L turbo petrol with CVT automatic transmission
- 2.0L turbo diesel with 6-speed manual transmission

On the pricing front, we may see some revisions. Whether they will be for the better or the worse, we can’t guess at the moment as our source failed to provide us any information about pricing.
