
Bharat NCAP has announced crash-test results for the Citroen Aircross today, revealing that the SUV got a 5-star safety rating. The Aircross, which is on sale in 5- and 7-seat configurations, was awarded 5 stars in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 4 stars in child occupant protection (COP). It should be noted that the ratings are valid for the Aircross 5-seat variants’ 84hp 1.2-litre petrol and 110hp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol versions.

Aircross scored 0.86 points more than the Basalt in AOP tests

The Aircross is the second Citroen car to be crash-tested by BNCAP after the Basalt, and it scored better than the coupe-SUV did. The Aircross managed an AOP score of 27.05/32, earning 11.05/16 and 16/16 in the frontal offset and side movable deformable barrier tests. The safety agency noted that the driver and front passenger dummies had marginal to good protection for their crotch, legs and chest, and the Aircross was also rated “OK” in the side pole impact test.
Incidentally, the Aircross scored 0.86 points more than the Basalt in BNCAP’s AOP tests, which ensured it got a 5-star rating; the Basalt has a 4-star AOP rating.

Aircross betters Basalt’s COP score by 4.1 points
As standard, all variants of the Aircross get six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, electronic stability control, a tyre-pressure monitoring system and hill-hold assist.
