The Windsor even got a price hike soon after the launch. So, its starting price of Rs. 13.50 lakh was short-lived as it jumped to Rs. 14.0 lakh in Jan 2025. After you factor in the discounts of up to Rs. 65,000, it’s now essentially available for Rs. 13.35 lakh (+registration & insurance), which is still about Rs. 15,000 lower than its launch price of Rs. 13.50 lakh.
According to our sources, the smaller battery variants are available with a flat cash discount of Rs. 30,000 along with exchange bonus of Rs. 25,000 and corporate discount of Rs. 10,000. Hence, adding up to Rs. 65,000.
With the larger battery, the demand appears to be more steady with MG’s expectations as that car has fewer discounts. The Windsor 53 (52.9kWh) only gets Rs. 20,000 in the form of cash discount and Rs. 10,000 as corporate discounts.

Special Editions
Moving to the topic of patterns to predict what car may get some discounts soon, look no further than the launch of special editions. The Windsor got its first special edition (Inspire Edition) about a year after the car first went on sale.
Sales Momentum
Then, you need to look at the YoY wholesale figures of the Windsor to predict the trend and estimate any loss in momentum.
In October 2025, the wholesale figures of the MG Windsor witnessed a solid 43% YoY jump. In November 2025, the YoY gains slid down to 28%. But in December 2025, the Windsor’s dispatch figures experienced a 5% YoY drop.
Tax Cuts
More than anything else, the thing that seems to be affecting the demand for the WIndsor EV is the recent GST rate cuts and revisions. In the September 2025 GST tax cuts, the petrol, CNG and diesel cars got substantial price drops while electric cars got absolutely nothing. This has taken the advantage away from the electric cars as they also have to work against the buyers’ range anxiety when competing with diesel cars.
