• No EV-specific platform means it doesn’t benefit from cost and efficiency optimisations and has to carry some dead weight, which is only relevant in a car with an engine
• The larger battery pack carries a steeper premium than expected (probably because of the NMC chemistry and lack of battery heating); it appears to cost about Rs. 50,000 more than it should even after factoring in the higher power output and battery heating

You may be charged a premium of Rs. 2.0 lakh over the Smart (O) 42kWh variant but you also get a better range of 473km, higher power and a battery heating option. However, you will have the peace of mind that comes with having a higher range and reduced range anxiety, we think this premium is justifiable.

Hyundai Creta Electric Smart (O) 42kWh vs Premium 42kWh Variant – Price, Feature Comparison

The higher Premium 42kWh variant of the Creta Electric is only available with the medium range option as the Smart 42kWh variant. The Premium 42kWh variant cost Rs. 20.0 lakh. This variant is exactly Rs. 50,000 higher than the lower Smart (O) variant of the Creta EV.

The Premium 42kWh variant of the Creta Electric gets the following additional notable features over the Smart (O) 42kWh variant:

The buying recommendation for the Creta Electric buyers is fairly simple. Hyundai has equipped the base Executive 42kWh variant of the Creta Electric quite well. So, if you are on a budget or don’t want to spend too much on the Creta Electric, you can go for the base variant. 

With the smaller battery pack, the Premium 42kWh variant is the only one worth considering, as it offers all the features and is the most value-for-money Creta Electric variant.  

However, we recommend that if you are purchasing the Creta Electric from a long-term perspective, you should go for its long-range version, which comes in two variants – Smart (O) and Excellence. Since there is a significant price difference between these two, and the Smart (O) 51.4kWh variant offers almost as much value as the Executive 42kWh variant but with more features and the bigger battery pack, it is our top recommended variant for the Creta Electric. 

Apart from these variants, the Excellence 51.4kWh  variant is better equipped and also offers great value for money, so you can consider upgrading to it.
